Doctor Matt was a railroad doctor for both the Santa Fe and Southern Pacific in Bakersfield California during the 1950’s and 60’s. This gave him the opportunity to photograph many steam locomotives in the west.This spectacular footage includes many of S.P.’s steamers including Cab Forwards. GS-4’s. Baldwin F-4’s. F-5’s. C-9’s. SP built ‘Mountain’ MT-4’s.
